Monsters not in LOS are revealed as { glyphs when playing in console mode, or as a variety of icons when playing in tiles. Attempting to move into hidden monsters (eg, trapdoor spiders) will halt your movement, without revealing the monster. Mimics will be revealed.

Species: (in trunk: Formicids start with rank 3). Demonspawn can gain antennae as a body slot option.
