the +9 scales of the Dragon King
Desirability
The scales of the Dragon King[1] are +9 gold dragon scales with an extra helping of willpower. Any character that doesn't care much about EV or spellcasting, or is subject to considerable armour limitations (e.g. ogres and trolls), will find this armour incredibly useful.
While you can get better AC by fully enchanting a mundane set of GDS, using this artefact saves scrolls of enchant armour for other purposes, and the willpower helps, too.
History
- Prior to 0.19, this item was called the armour of the Dragon King.
- This armour's encumbrance rating (along with all gold dragon scales in general) has eased from -27 (prior to 0.14), and -25 (prior to 0.16), to its present rating of 23.
- Prior to 0.14, the armor of the Dragon King gave +50 MR.
