The sceptre of Asmodeus is a powerful artifact staff which contains dangerous demonic magic. It can only be acquired by slaying Asmodeus, the lord of Gehenna.
The staff may be used in combat, functioning as a +7, +7 staff (which is fairly weak). You can improve your melee performance with this staff by training Fighting and Staves. Alternatively, the staff can be evoked to summon one of the following demons:
- Efreet: 25%
- Sun demon: 25%
- Balrug: 25%
- Hellion: 16.7%
- Brimstone fiend: 8.3%
Initially this demon is always friendly but after a few turns it will turn hostile. Abjuration won't work against it, but it will time out after a while.
The chance of evoking successfully this artifact is Evocations/30, and doing so costs 200 nutrition.
Strategy
Be forewarned that hellions and brimstone fiends will use hellfire against their targets regardless of your position.
