Desirability

The macabre finger necklace is a mediocre amulet on its own. The additional ring slot could be worth it, but equipping a mundane ring is generally worse than an amulet of reflection or amulet of regeneration. It really shines when you already have 2 or more great artefact rings, and need extra resistances in other fields (or have a 3rd great ring).

The last ring slot will automatically be removed when you unequip the necklace. If your third ring is cursed by Ashenzari, you will not be able to remove the macabre finger necklace.

History

• In 0.31, the amulet will become an evil item.
• In 0.18, the warding ego was removed from amulets, leaving the macabre finger necklace as just an extra ring slot with rN+.
• The macabre finger necklace was added in 0.14.
