Opens a gate to the realm of Pandemonium and draws forth one of its inhabitants to serve the caster for a time. Summon Demon is a level 5 Summonings spell which summons a single common demon (tier-3 or -4) to do your bidding. While this can create some excellent allies such as smoke demons or sun demons, you may also wind up with less useful demon. On top of that, the demon may arrive hostile (higher spell power makes this less likely), so having a way to deal with that threat such as Aura of Abjuration is advised.

Spell Power

Spell power increases the chance to summon a tier-3 demon, that chance being
30 + spellpower / 3
which translates to ~40% at ####......, ~70% at ########.. and 96.7% at full power.

Each demon has a
4 / spellpower
chance to arrive hostile, which is ~20% at ###......., ~10% at #####....., and ~5% at #######....

Higher spell power also increases the duration of the summon.

The following enemies cast Summon Demon:

• 8 Obsidian statue

• o Orc sorcerer

The following enemies may be able to cast Summon Demon, depending on their spell set:

History

Prior to 0.14 spell power didn't affect the chance to summon a stronger demon.
