Glaciate
Version 0.29: This article may not be up to date for the latest stable release of Crawl.
Conjures forth a mighty blast of ice. Creatures within its cone-shaped area of effect take damage, with higher damage being dealt to those close to the caster. Those hit by the blast are encased in ice, slowing their movement, and those killed by the blast may be frozen into solid blocks of ice. A significant portion of its damage bypasses cold resistance. |
Glaciate is a monster-only spell which creates a huge unavoidable blast of ice and freezing vapour. Like Fire Storm, it inflicts incredible damage, and it can pierce cold resistance well -- 60% damage is irresistible. Affected creatures will be frozen, causing them to move 4 auts slower. Additionally, monsters killed by this spell may turn into blocks of ice (which later melt, leaving no corpse).
The following enemies cast Glaciate:
- & Lom Lobon (10-132 damage)
The following enemies may be able to cast Glaciate, depending on their spell set:
- & Pandemonium lord (3.4% chance)
