Mindburst

Disintegrate is a monster-only spell which attempts to violently tear apart the target for moderate physical damage. Although this cannot be evaded, high willpower can negate the effect.

History
Disintegrate used to also be a level 6 Transmutations player spell which had the additional application of working as a miniature Dig spell or statue killer. Used against rock or wax walls, iron grates, or many statues (including the deadly orange crystal statue), the tile would be cleared out. Used against monsters, it would cause severe damage (unless the target's magic resistance negated the spell).
While this spell can no longer be learned, its effects are duplicated by the wand of disintegration, and Lee's Rapid Deconstruction is similarly effective against brittle monsters.
