Crawl's gastropods are an assortment of enemies that tend to hit fairly hard. That said, they are universally extremely slow and virtually no defense to speak of, so most characters will not find them terribly difficult to handle. Most of them have been removed over time, as they presented few challenges to competent players.

Dart slug - A small slug that constantly shoots at you with remarkable range & power.

Torpor snail - An enormous snail that slows you down when in line of sight.
