Useful Info
Clockroaches are early Dungeon pests that first introduce the Warding mechanic, which prevents them from taking any damage from non-adjacent sources. They also are fast and have a weak Sandblast spell that has its damage heavily reduced by AC.

| Spell set I | ||
|---|---|---|
| Slot1 | Sandblast (3d7) | Magical flag |
Strategy
- Earlygame mages that otherwise could zap monsters from afar should duck around corners to avoid a Sandblast to the face.
- Species with severe equipment restrictions such as Felids and Octopodes have to care much more about these than other species, due to their low innate AC.
Tips & Tricks
- Allies count as their own sources of damage, so Summoners, Forgewrights, and Necromancers all won't mind.
- Clouds, such as from scrolls of poison, count as your damage, and won't
History
- Clockroaches were added in 0.34, replacing giant cockroaches.
