The net trap is a trap which drops a single throwing net on the first character or monster that steps on it. The net may be dodged with high Evasion. If hit by the net, the victim becomes held and cannot move or attack until they either break the net or slip out of it.
Some types of enemies are immune to nets (jellies, insubstantial spirits, and monsters of size giant or larger), and thus are not affected by net traps. Magically flying creatures are also unaffected and winged flying creatures unlikely to be hit.
If you manage to spot the trap before it drops its net, it can be disarmed and the net retrieved. Flying characters never trigger them.
