A lizard with pads on its toes allowing it to cling to walls and ceilings, and huge, sharp teeth. It is many times larger than a normal gecko, yet its size belies its agility. |
Useful info
Giant geckos are one of the more dangerous creatures you can run into on the first floor of the dungeon. They are more difficult to kill than giant newts and they move faster than most players. Flimsy characters that try to run for it often get bitten to death.
Tips and tricks
- The giant gecko may be the first monster that you learn to avoid, but they are only dangerous to beginning characters. Once you've got a bit of experience under your belt, they stop being a threat.
- Giant geckos can cling to walls, which allows them to cross obstacles like water or traps without risk. Fortunately, they're weak enough that this rarely makes a difference.
