Unless you specifically ''want'' to make annoying [[player ghost]]s, this spell usually isn't worth learning. It's resistible, takes several turns to activate, and doesn't get rid of the monster permanently. And just as a random teleport can land you right back where you started, so too can teleporting a strong monster.

Attempts to teleport a targeted creature out of the caster's sight, after a short delay.

Teleport Other is a level 3 Translocations spell which, if it succeeds a willpower check causes a monster to randomly teleport out of LOS after 3-5 turns, which certain areas may delay. The monster will be teleported to a random location outside line of sight. It is smite-targeted, but as the name implies, you cannot target yourself with it.

Warpers start with this spell in their libraries.

Strategy

Teleport is a powerful effect in theory, as monsters are very likely to teleport a large distance away. However, the flaw with Teleport Other is that it checks willpower, so the spell often struggles with low success rates. Investing more into Translocations, a spell school that doesn't directly kill enemies, can be a difficult task. And many monsters simply have too much willpower to reasonably hex without a vulnerability-like effect. Even if the teleport works, the monster can potentially be warped into your retreat path or just out of LOS.

Overall, a strong but ultimately unreliable effect, which isn't a great trait for an escape spell.
