[[File:Fountain.png]] The most common fountain, drinking from one has absolutely no effect, other than a 5% chance of drying up the fountain. Alternatively, casting the [[Summon Elemental]] spell on a clear blue water fountain will create a [[water elemental]], always drying up the fountain in the process.

After you drink from it, a sparkling fountain has a 10% chance of drying up. If that does not occur, there's then a 20% chance of it permanently becoming a fountain of clear blue water. [[Xom]] is entertained any time you drink from a sparkling fountain and receive some effect other than that of a [[potion of water]]. The presence of the [[potion of mutation]] adds greatly to the risk involved.
