A gelatinous assemblage of tentacles and venom, leaving a glistening trail as it slides along. Surely such a mockery of life could not be natural..?

“From this story it is evident that in former times the jellyfish once had a shell and bones something like a tortoise, but, ever since the Dragon King's sentence was carried out on the ancestor of the jelly fishes, his descendants have all been soft and boneless just as you see them to-day thrown up by the waves high upon the shores of Japan.”
-“The Jellyfish and the Monkey”, adapted by Yei Theodora Ozaki, _Young Folk's Treasury_, vol. II. 1909.

Useful Info

Formless jellyfish are gelatinous sea creatures which paralyse and constrict its victims. Their attacks have a 50% chance to paralyse for 1 turn; poison resistance gives a 66% chance to block this effect (reducing it to 16.7%), but only poison immunity prevents it completely. They can be found throughout the Vaults, rarely in Shoals, and in small groups inside Slime Pits.

Tips & Tricks

  • Even 1 turn of paralysis can really sting when you're around a group of enemies. A single turn of yaktaurs shooting at you, slime creatures mobbing up on you, etc. will quickly rack up damage.
  • Their willpower is moderate, the same as hydras and jorogumo. High power Hexes or hex wands can take them out.

History

  • Formless jellyfish will be introduced in 0.31.
