Should the wearer of this amulet be levitated by magical means, he or she will be able to exercise some control over the resulting motion. This allows the descent of staircases and the retrieval of items lying on the ground, for example, but does not deprive the wearer of the benefits of levitation.

An amulet of controlled flight allows the wearer to pick up items from the ground and go up and down stairs while levitating by providing the control flight intrinsic. Essentially, it turns Levitation into flying.

History

These were mostly removed in 0.11. The unrandom artefact amulet of the Air is the only one remaining.

In 0.12, the amulet of the Air was changed to grant inaccuracy and Repel Missiles instead of controlled flight, removing the last source of controlled flight.
