Useful info

Ironbound beastmasters are enemies exclusive to the Vaults. They spawn with packs of slimes, dire elephants or lindwurms and are able to quicken them (or any natural creature of animal or lower intelligence) with their aura of haste. Their Throw Bolas spell is extremely dangerous, temporarily preventing you from moving when hit.

Tips & Tricks

  • Ironbound beastmasters deal a surprising amount of damage in melee. Especially beware of beastmasters with a polearm, who can deal out heavy hits while you are unable to move and stuck behind their hasted beasts.

History

  • Ironbound beastmasters returned in 0.33, now with an aura of haste that speeds up nearby living creatures of animal or lower intelligence. They also got the Throw Bolas spell.
  • Ironbound beastmasters were added in 0.27 removed in 0.28. They had the ability Goad Beasts, which gave nearby animals a few extra action points per turn (letting them act more quickly).
