Charm is a status effect which can only affect monsters, temporarily causing them to ally with you. These monsters will behave as any other summoned or permanent ally would, following you and attacking enemies that you engage, and you can give them commands with t. However, the effect eventually ends, resulting in the victim once again becoming hostile.
