All insubstantial monsters and players are without physical form of any sort. They are immune to petrification, constriction, and Sticky Flame. Also, they take less damage from Shatter. Insubstantial monsters and players don't get the movement penalty from Leda's Liquefaction, but only if someone else cast this spell.

Players turn insubstantial only while in Storm Form or Wisp Form.[1]

Insubstantial monsters have no special resistances or immunities to weapons of any sort, unlike, for example, NetHack's shades.
