Lets the caster walk through the air as a raging, lightning-filled tempest. The caster's melee attacks are strengthened, electrified, and strike all adjacent foes. The caster also flies, is more evasive, gains immunity to poison and miasma, and resists electricity. They can launch themselves as a lightning bolt, blasting through everything in their way. The damage and evasion granted by storm form are highly dependent on the power with which it was cast.
While transformed, any equipped weapons and armour are melded. |
Storm Form is a level 7 Transmutations / Air spell.
Effect
Storm Form turns you into lightning, with the following changes:
Pros
- Unarmed Combat receives cleaving, is electricity-branded, and has a base damage of
2 + (spell power / 3)
. - Gain innate AC and EV based on spell power:
10 + (power / 10)
AC and a bonuspower / 10
EV. - Blinkbolt: Bolt-targeted ability that deals electric damage to everything in its path, then blinks you to the end. Has a cooldown. Works while silenced.
- Electricity resistance
- Nonliving (grants immunity to poison & miasma)
- Insubstantial (grants immunity to petrification and being set on fire)
- Flight
Cons
- All equipment slots except for rings and amulets meld into the new form.
- Unable to throw items.
- Requires high spell power to be effective.
Strategy
Storm Form is intended to be a high damage spell that scales well with spell power. At low spell power, Dragon Form deals more damage to single targets. Even when Storm Form becomes powerful, its somewhat low defenses may discourage general use; use it in situations where damage or cleaving are beneficial.
Like Dragon Form, Storm Form benefits greatly from support magic such as Ozocubu's Armour and Manifold Assault.
