Starburst is a Level 6 Conjurations/Fire Magic spell that launches penetrating boltsl of fire in all 8 directions.
Starburst is powerful enough to set trees on fire.
Strategy
Starburst is a strong AOE spell, valuable when surrounded thanks to its ability to target every space around you (and much further)! Moving in a way to keep monsters in direct line of fire is helpful if you don't have or want to use Fireball.
Be careful around crystal walls when using Starburst. As the bolts always travel in straight lines in all 8 directions, it's all too easy to accidentally bounce the bolt back at yourself.
History
Starburst was added in 0.25, replacing the Bolt of Fire spell for players. Starburst loses the ability to target specific foes, firing in 8 directions instead.
