This amulet makes its wearer less accurate in hand combat and when targeting monsters via ranged weapons or spells. |
Wearing an amulet of inaccuracy decreases the accuracy of any attack (physical or magical) by a random amount each time. At best the attack is just as accurate as normal; at worst, the attack suffers a -5 penalty (as if attacking an invisible target without see invisible).
This type of amulet is not always cursed, and is not identified upon equipping, so if you've just equipped a new amulet and find that your attacks are missing more than usual, you may have just found an amulet of inaccuracy.
Although they serve no useful purpose, the amulet of the Air uses the amulet of inaccuracy as a base item, adding several very useful benefits to compensate for the penalty to accuracy.
History
