The necklace of Bloodlust is definitely not the sort of item you'd want to use regularly, but it has some definite uses, ironically proving most valuable to characters who don't worship Trog. Although +5 damage and +30 magic resistance on an amulet are both excellent properties, the most common solution for the berserkitis it inflicts (an amulet of clarity) is unusable due to the fact that it fills your amulet slot, making it a bad piece of gear for any non-Ashenzari or undead character to wear for any extended period of time. Popping it on right before engaging an enemy you actually want to berserk against, however, allows it to function as an excellent alternative to burning through potions of berserk rage, but make sure to keep a scroll of remove curse or two handy in case it recurses itself.
