Black Mark is the third level of the Negative Energy Resistance demonspawn mutation. Each time you attack a monster in melee, there is a 20% chance that you will drain its vitality, healing you for random2(damage_done) and applying one of these effects to the victim: antimagic, weak, or draining.

Black Mark is a monster-only spell that applies the black mark status effect to any creature in the LOS of the caster that is hostile to the player. When a monster with this enchantment deals some damage in melee to the player or another monster, it will be healed for a random amount 2d(DamageDone/2) and one of the following effects will be applied to the defender:
