A small canine scavenger. Packs of these creatures roam the underworld, searching for carrion to devour.
“Always ready to take advantage of every favourable opportunity, the Jackal is a sad parasite, and hangs on the skirts of the larger carnivora as they roam the country for prey, in the hope of securing some share of the creatures which they destroy or wound.” |
For a list of all canines, see list of canines.
Useful Info
Jackals are one of the earliest pack hunters you are likely to encounter, spawning as early as Dungeon:1 and attempting to surround you and pick you apart. They are exceptionally weak, to the point where any level 1 character can take them on individually, but should they surround a careless starting character on all sides they can be a serious menace.
Tips & Tricks
Consider this a lesson in why you should fight in corridors.
