A valuable potion which grants a person with an infusion of magical energy.

Quaffing a potion of magic restores 10-37 magic points, 9 + 3d28/3[1], strongly biased towards the middle values.

All Mage backgrounds (Hedge Wizards, Conjurers, etc.) start with a potion of magic in their inventories.

Strategy

This potion is quite rare and immensely useful for spellcasters. Non-casters should still keep around these items in order to use certain divine abilities when MP is low, e.g., when a ghost moth drained all your MP.

If you can spare a few turns of confusion, potions of ambrosia can be used to regenerate MP instead, thus saving a potion of magic in the process.

History

  • In 0.18 alone, Pakellas gifted potions of magic to its followers.
  • Prior to 0.5, the potion restored all magic points and had one in three chance of increasing max MP by one.
