Version 0.27: This article may not be up to date for the latest stable release of Crawl.
Unbreathing creatures do not require air to survive. These include undead, nonliving, and plant-type monsters. Player characters can achieve this by playing a ghoul, vampire (only when Bloodless), mummy, gargoyle, djinni, or by being in Ice Form, Statue Form, Lich Form, Tree Form, or Wisp Form.
Unbreathing creatures are immune to confusing spores and drowning damage.
History
- In 0.27, the unbreathing property was mostly removed. Gargoyles and grey Draconians are now vulnerable to various cloud effects, while the undead are naturally immune to all these effects. Grey Draconians were also made amphibious, resisting Primal Wave.
- Prior to 0.26, unbreathing creatures were not immune to miasma.
