| This amulet protects its wearer from sickness due to eating fresh raw meat and allows them to digest it when not hungry, but these effects on the wearer's digestion are cumulative over time and are initially small. |
An amulet of the gourmand lets you consume meat like a carnivore but functions fully only after some time. If you eat meat while it "attunes" you will only gain partial nutrition from any chunks you eat while above "Hungry" level. Once it fully activates, it will also make you immune to nausea from eating contaminated (brown) corpses.
If you are a ghoul it will instead transform all clean chunks into contaminated ones making them slightly better for you.
It will not grant the ability to eat meat to spriggans, vampires, mummies, or anyone with three ranks of the herbivore mutation. As trolls already have the gourmand mutation, they will also receive no benefit from the amulet.
