Rebuke

Version 0.34: This article is up to date for the latest stable release of Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup.

It shields the wearer if their last action was a melee attack (+10 SH) and redirects blocked melee attacks to other nearby enemies.

The sundering brand, exclusive to Staves, does the following:

• After attacking, grants +10 SH for 1 turn.
• When blocking melee attacks, the attack will be redirected towards the lowest HP enemy that is adjacent to the original attacker.
  • It cannot redirect attacks against the original attacker.
  • Cleaving is disabled on redirected attacks.

Monsters get +10 SH regardless of whether they attack or not.

Sundering can only generate and exist on Staves. It is available through both random generation and through a scroll of brand weapon.
