Mutually exclusive

When two or more objects are mutually exclusive, they cannot appear in the same game. Usually, in Crawl, they fulfill a similar yet non-identical role in the game.

Branches
Only one branch from each set will appear in a game:
- Poison Lair Branch:
The Spider's Nest, 
The Snake Pit - Water Lair Branch:
The Shoals, 
The Swamp
Because each of these branches houses a rune and gem, their runes/gems will also be exclusive from each other.
Items
Only one item from each set will appear in a game:
Wands
- AOE Wand: Wand of iceblast, wand of roots, and wand of warping will appear per game.
- Bolt Wand: Wand of acid, wand of light, and wand of quicksilver will appear per game.
- Hex Wand:Wand of paralysis and wand of charming will appear per game.
