Wearing an amulet of resist mutation gives the wearer a 90% chance of resisting mutations from most sources, and reduced or no resistance to the following:
- Mutations caused due to magic contamination are only resisted 50% of the time.
- Potions of beneficial mutation ignore this amulet entirely.
- Any bad mutations inflicted by offending Jiyva ignore this amulet entirely.
As one of the few sources of mutation resistance available to any character, amulets of resist mutation are extremely desirable, particularly when exploring the Realm of Zot, the Abyss, the Slime Pits, and the extended game.
