Desirability
The armour of the Dragon King is essentially a +9 gold dragon armour with +50 MR. While you can get better AC by fully enchanting a mundane gold dragon armour, the MR bonus more than makes up for this, and finding enough scrolls of enchant armour to actually create a superior AC suit is very unlikely. Unfortunately, gold dragon armour is generally too bulky for most characters to wear; consider it if you're playing an ogre or troll who doesn't care about spells and doesn't expect to be dodging much anyway.
