Useful Info
Fire drakes are one of the lesser kinds of dragon, but they're still one of the more dangerous creatures one can encounter in the Lair. They're fast, have a fiery breath attack that does 3d12 fire damage, and retreat when wounded only to resume their attack once they've regained some distance.
Tips & Tricks
- The Lair is an excellent branch to create a stash in, so hopefully you won't have any terribly valuable scrolls on you when you encounter one. If you do, consider dropping them before engaging.
- If you have a source of fire resistance available, use it. At low levels, that breath can deal a serious amount of damage.
- Unlike some other creatures with breath weapons, fire drakes don't have to catch their breaths between blasts of fire. Don't be surprised if a fire drake decides to spam its fire breath at you.
