Eerie flames cover its twisted blade. Its demonic power burns away some of the defender's fire resistance. |
+6 modified great sword (17 damage, -2 accuracy, 160% speed)
Flaming brand
Inflicts rF- on hit
Evil
The sword of Cerebov is the fixedart great sword wielded by the unique Pandemonium lord Cerebov. Foes struck by the sword temporarily have their fire resistance reduced by one, which can make even fire-immune enemies vulnerable.
Desirability
As compared to a +6 triple sword of flaming, this sword has lower base damage but will do more damage from its brand. It will do slightly less damage against non-resistant foes but slightly more more against ones with at least rF+. Still, in general, this sword is more often carried as a prize than actually used, since most characters who can defeat Cerebov already have their endgame weapons.
History
In 0.13, the rF- mechanic was added; before the sword only reduced fire immunity on its own hits. It was also a plain great sword instead of a slightly enhanced one (+1 damage and accuracy).
