A vile undead creation of the most unholy necromancy, made from the decaying corpses of humanoid creatures. It exists to spread disease and decay.

Useful Info

Necrophages are grotesque undead. Their melee attacks have a chance of draining your max HP with every hit. They only generate inside certain vaults.

Tips & Tricks

  • If you find one in early Dungeon, they can be threatening to Alchemists and Necromancers, since they are immune to poison/negative energy.
  • They're fragile enough that almost anyone can defeat them from a distance with ranged attacks.

History

  • In 0.32, necrophages will no longer appear in the Dungeon, and they will exist only as Yred allies. Also, necrophages will have less HP and a weaker melee attack, 8 -> 6.
  • Prior to 0.30, necrophages could spawn in the early Dungeon.
  • Prior to 0.26, necrophages inflicted rot instead of draining.
  • Prior to 0.24, followers of Fedhas Madash could instantly destroy them with the Fungal Bloom ability.
  • Prior to 0.16, necrophages could eat corpses to heal.
  • Prior to 0.15, necrophages could equip weapons and armour.
