Useful Info
Iron imps are relatively burly tier-5 demons. They have the most HP of all the imps and decent attacks, but they're slow and almost never show during the part of the game in which they'd pose a threat. You can find them in the Abyss, Pandemonium, the Hells (primarily the Iron City of Dis, and a few vaults. Some enemies may summon them with the Call Imp spell.
Tips & Tricks
If you're actually concerned about it being a threat in melee, they're easy to kite.
History
Prior to 0.7, iron imps were called manes.
