Every turn you are in the line of sight of an orange crystal statue, there is a 66.6% chance that it will inflict a random Divinations miscast on you. If your current intelligence is less than 8, this can kill you if you have no quick means of recovering from having 0 intelligence. Other effects include confusion or draining your MP.
Tips & Tricks
Fortunately, these statues can be instantly and reliably destroyed with a single zap of a wand of disintegration (if you can stay unconfused long enough to zap it). To avoid being in its line of sight at all, an Orb of Destruction will make short work of it.
