Useful Info
Trapdoor spiders are territorial monsters that are normally content to hide underground. However, if you step adjacent to their tile, they will leap out and attack. They are somewhat fragile, but fast and poisonous, and the fact that you can only find them by walking into melee range makes escape very challenging. They can occasionally be found in the Dungeon and in Labyrinths, but are much more commonly found throughout the Spider's Nest.
Tips & Tricks
- Ensorcelled Hibernation does not work as well as you might hope against these; once put to sleep, they immediately burrow back underground. Mephitic Cloud-confused spiders, on the other hand, are incapable of escaping in that manner.
- Ignite Poison can hurt them even when they're underground.
