Useful Info

Humans are uncommon creatures in the dungeon and generally aren't very threatening. If you see one, it's either a shapeshifter, a sign of a nearby vault (e.g., "yak farm" or "sword in the stone"), or an outrider for one of a few uniques.

Also, several "other" monsters leave human corpses: Prince Ribbit, Wizards, Vault guards, Hell knights, Paladins.

Variant Humans

Deformed human.png You can find deformed humans, febrile humans, and sickly humans in some of the sealed chambers in Cigotuvi's Fleshworks.

This poor creature looks hideously deformed.

Human monk.png The ghosts of human monks will occasionally coalesce as you travel in Wucad Mu's Monastery. As these count as summons, they can be quickly disposed of with Abjuration, and they will stop spawning once you destroy the statue of Wucad Mu in the heart of the monastery.

It seems a flimsy representation of a monk; nothing more than a half-formed memory.

Tips & Tricks

Although generally very easy if you meet them, humans can be dangerous if spawned with crossbows, branded weapons, or large shields, and pack a surprisingly strong punch if they meet a low-level character.
