The sceptre of Asmodeus is a powerful artefact staff which commands the fiery legions of Hell. It can only be acquired by slaying Asmodeus, the lord of Gehenna.
The staff may be used in combat, functioning as a +7, +7 staff (which is fairly weak). You can improve your melee performance with this staff by training Fighting and Staves. Alternatively, the staff can be evoked to summon one of the following demons:
- Efreet: 25%
- Sun demon: 25%
- Balrug: 25%
- Hellion: 16.7%
- Brimstone fiend: 8.3%
Success Rate: Evocations/30
Cost: 200 nutrition
The summoned demon is always friendly initially, but will eventually turn hostile before timing out. Abjuration has no effect on these demons.
Strategy
Be forewarned that hellions and brimstone fiends will use hellfire against their targets regardless of your position.
History
Prior to 0.10, this staff would fire random Conjurations and summoned hostile demons when it failed to evoke properly.
