A hideous conglomeration of mangled body parts, possessed and altered in ways that challenge sanity. Each varies in speed and durability by the nature of whatever unfortunates were used to make it.

Useful Info

Large abominations are enormous piles of roughly connected humanoid body parts. Their HP, AC and EV are randomized, but they always deal significant damage in melee. They are often found in the Abyss and occasionally in parts of Pandemonium.

Tips & Tricks

  • One stat that isn't randomized is their willpower. Unfortunately, at 100, it is moderately high: don't expect Hexes or hex wands to do much unless they are at high power.
  • They are vulnerable to Dispel Undead.
  • Their health does not regenerate naturally, so you can kite them or stair dance to whittle them down.

Alternate Tiles

Being haphazard collections of random body parts, large abominations can take many forms:

In console, they can be any manner of colors. Neither the alternate tiles nor colors indicate anything about their stats.

History

  • Prior to 0.31, large abominations had randomized speed (6-12).
  • Prior to 0.27, large abominations could heal by merging with crawling corpses and macabre masses. Also, monsters could cast Twisted Resurrection to create large abominations.
  • Prior to 0.16, players could also cast Twisted Resurrection.
  • Prior to 0.14, abominations could regenerate naturally.
