Version 0.34: This article is up to date for the latest stable release of Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup.
Type Jewellery
Name Amulet of dissapation
Icon 32px
An amulet which causes magic contamination and negative status effects upon the wearer to expire twice as quickly with time.

Wearing an amulet of dissapation makes all negative dispellable effects and contamination decrement twice as fast. This is treated as if the player took twice the amount of time per action, rather than halving the duration directly.

Strategy

This amulet is valuable as it reduces the lethality of incredibly deadly statuses like paralysis, vex, and petrify. It is ideal to avoid these statuses completely, but this may not be possible.

This amulet is recommended to strong characters who are well "above the curve", as dissapation is useful to protect against theoretical instakills but does nothing against many monsters. Characters who struggle with regular encounters should wear a combat amulet like reflection instead.

Many, but not all, dispellable enchantments can be resisted by willpower, so this amulet is largely redundant with enough will.
