Version 0.13: This article may not be up to date for the latest stable release of Crawl.
Pig Form is a bad form that can be inflicted by the unique monster Kirke's Porkalator spell, by being Polymorphed (whether through the spell or with the wand), or by drawing the Swine card from the Deck of punishment. Becoming a hog melds all equipment (including jewellery), suppresses mutations, and prevents spellcasting. Even characters with significant training in unarmed combat will find themselves almost entirely incapable of fighting competently. The one advantage given by Pig Form is a large boost to a character's base speed, improving your odds of fleeing the fight.
Pros
Cons
- Sets base AC to 0
- All equipment, other than amulets, is melded
- Can't cast spells or evoke wands
- Unarmed Combat base damage is reduced to 1+UC/5
- Unstealthy
History
While Pig Form has been around as long as Kirke has, version 0.12 made it somewhat more common with the changes to the Polymorph spell.
