Use
Air Magic has a variety of applications, and this book is no exception:
- Swiftness allows you to outrun most foes while zapping them with Shock, and tougher foes can usually be maneuvered into position for a multizap.
- Flight boosts your stealth, helps you explore many otherwise inaccessible areas, ignore the normal penalties for moving through shallow water, and avoid mechanical traps altogether, such as deadly shafts or blade traps.
- Repel Missiles is by no means foolproof, but it is still a great defense against centaurs and other ranged attackers.
- Lightning Bolt is the most powerful offensive spell in the book. Just be aware that it is loud enough to make stealth obsolete.
- Finally, Static Discharge, while it can be dangerous to use, is quite powerful early on (more so when you are surrounded).
