damage with this wand.[1][2]
Monsters will deal 3d(2.25 + (30 + HD)/12)
damage with this wand.
Strategy
Wands of acid provide an easy-to-underestimate backup attack. A Corrosive Bolt is effectively a level 6 spell, and with a few points into Evocations, as strong as one. Few monsters resist acid.
These wands are also valuable for the corrosion status, which lowers monster AC significantly. This can provide a surprising boost to damage output, especially against tough enemies like orbs of fire. Note that monster corrosion does not stack, unlike player corrosion. If a monster is already corroded, you cannot corrode it further.
Beware of Ijyb, the goblin with a wand (of acid). This is easily the most dangerous wand she can wield, though it can only be fired at a range of 5. Other monsters require an HD of at least 5 to use this; by then, you should have more HP to tank the first hit.
