A shambling reanimated corpse. Trapped by evil spellweaving in a grotesque parody of life, this infected decaying body lurches about, seeking retribution on the living.

Useful Info

Rotting hulks are slow, heavy-hitting brutes that inflict sickness with their melee attacks. Although they leave corpses, these are already so rotten that gods will not accept them as blood sacrifices and only saprovores can eat them. They are encountered in the Dungeon on graveyard-themed floors, often in the company of skeletal warriors, as well as in the Crypt.

Tips & Tricks

Take advantage of their slow speed to avoid having to face them with company. The normal-speed skeletal warriors they appear with are by far the bigger threat, but getting sickened is never a good prospect. Kite them if you have access to decently powerful ranged attacks.

History

Rotting hulks will be replaced with plague shamblers in 0.13.
