A funerary stone figurine kept in tombs to serve the deceased as they passed through the afterlife. Inscribed with spells to answer divine calls for manual labour in the afterlife, the ushabti are magically animated to slavishly protect the interred for eternity.

Useful Info

Despite their appearance, ushabti are not mummies. They are instead non-living constructs which assault you with negative energy or miasma cloud blasts, or simply attempt to pummel you in melee. They can be found in the Tomb.

Spells

Spell set
Slot1 Death Rattle (2d4) Natural flag

Tips & Tricks

  • Their Death Rattle spell functions similarly to a catoblepas' petrifying breath attack, creating a line of unwholesome clouds. If you're already standing in a cloud of your own creation, the spell won't be able to affect you. Characters with rN+++ or immunity to miasma can simply ignore the associated clouds, standing in them for safety. Just be mindful of your safe cloud dissipating, and avoid negative energy clouds after getting attacked by death scarabs - their rN- effect will allow the clouds to start affecting you again.
  • Ghouls, mummies, and lichform characters have little to fear from ushabti. Focus your attention elsewhere.
