Every point of strength adds a +2.5% multiplier to your base damage, or a 15% boost from a base ring of strength. If your <weapon base dmg> * <skill multiplier> * <Fighting multiplier>)
is above 26.6, the ring of strength beats a ring of slaying in pure damage. Note that slaying increases to-hit, while strength will reduce encumbrance.
History
- Prior to 0.27, you could find rings of strength with a -4 enchantment; such rings were always cursed.
- Prior to 0.25, enchantment values ranged from 2 to 6 (positive and negative).
