Dispel Undead is a level 4 Necromancy spell which deals AC-ignoring, unavoidable physical damage to a single undead target.
Strategy
Although it only affects a select few opponents, and only at melee range, Dispel Undead is nice to have against them. Good targets in the late-game include liches, curse skulls and curse toes, as well as death cobs. If found early enough, Necromancers can use it to take out wights and other early-D enemies.
Tips & Tricks
- Dispel Undead is very effective against player ghosts. Since player ghosts often have tremendous AC/EV, and Dispel Undead ignores all defenses, it can kill very quickly.
Monster Version
Several monsters have access to a ranged version of this spell, Dispel Undead Range. The following enemies cast Dispel Undead Range:
- 6 Demonspawn black sun (3d24 damage)
- & Gloorx Vloq (3d25 damage)
- @ Josephine (3d18 damage)
- z Revenant (3d27 damage)
- 1 Tzitzimitl (3d32 damage)
- 9 Ushabti (3d14 damage)
The following enemies may be able to cast Dispel Undead Range, depending on their spell set:
- & Pandemonium lord (3.4% chance)
While their spell power varies, it is always a significant threat to Mummy, Ghoul, Vampire, or lichform players.
