Web sense
Once the best human weaver, Arachne was cursed by being transformed into her present form: half-human, half-spider. No longer aging, she has the youth and beauty of a human female, along with the legs and abdomen of a monstrous giant spider.

Thousands of years old, she has learned magic and quite a few other tricks. Expect to be ensnared by webs and magic while her pets digest and then drink you dry.

For a list of all arthropods, see list of arthropods.

Useful Info

Arachne is a unique half-spider caster who wields a staff of poison, and likes to ensnare you in webs while she and her spider allies heavily poison you.

Tips & Tricks

  • Her Conjurations can deal absurd amounts of damage, and her constant webbing will reduce your evasion to next to nothing. Bring poison resistance to make her significantly less deadly, and Repel Missiles/Deflect Missiles to keep yourself from being disabled for half the fight.
  • The combination of ranged webbing and constant blinking makes her harder to pin down in melee than anything else you'll encounter. Melee brutes should consider avoiding her until they have a powerful ranged attack option.
  • Unlike most monsters found in the Spider's Nest, Arachne isn't affected by Ignite Poison. Be careful, if you are relying on this spell. Thanks to her staff, she also resists poison, making another common anti-spider strategy useless.

Trivia

According to Greek mythology, Arachne was a mortal weaver whose arrogant pride in her weaving ability caused her to be punished by becoming the first spider.
