They can deal heavy smite-targeted damage with their magic to any creature standing in water, and their melee attacks cause both you and the nymph to immediately teleport to a nearby pool of water (which is often inhabited by thorn lotuses, elemental wellsprings, and other hazards). They are found in the Enchanted Forest.
